Mental Health Clinical Fellowship Program

The Steinman Foundation also provides significant support to the Touchstone Foundation to support their Mental Health Clinical Fellowship program, formerly the Clinical Supervision Collaborative and the Mental Health Copay Assistance program. The Mental Health Clinical Fellowship program through Touchstone Foundation addresses the inadequate supply of child and adolescent mental health professionals in Lancaster County. Master’s level graduates pursuing a clinical license in mental health must earn over 3,000 clinical supervision hours before they are eligible to take the Pennsylvania license exam. This leads to inequities and barriers for many students because many of them must pay out of pocket for their clinical supervision hours. In 2024, 11 agencies and practices supported 33 Fellows for clinical supervision hours to become licensed therapists and counselors serving Lancaster County. In 2024, 10 Fellows graduated from the program, earning their clinical supervision hours to become newly licensed mental health professionals. In addition, the Mental Health Copay Assistance portion supported by The Steinman Foundation supported 64 youth and young adults in receiving mental health care, with 1,795 total therapy sessions in 2024.
