Grant Application Process
Organizations may apply by invitation only. To be considered, please begin by submitting a Letter of Inquiry. The following outlines the step-by-step process for submitting your request.
Grant Application Process
Step 1: Submit a Letter of Inquiry (LOI)
Our application process begins with a letter of inquiry (LOI) which may be submitted to apply@steinmanfoundation.com. Please include a brief summary of your organization’s mission and goals, and outline how grant funding would be used to support the Lancaster County community.
When crafting your LOI, consider:
- How does your proposal align with the Foundation’s priority areas and mission?
- How is your work responsive to demographic and cultural changes in the community?
- How do your diversity, equity, and inclusion principles shape program development and implementation?
- What is the specific amount of funding you are requesting and how will it be used?
Key Priorities:
Sustainability and collaboration with partners are encouraged.
Review Timeline
- Rolling Basis: LOIs are accepted throughout the year.
- Strategic Priority Areas: LOIs fitting within the Foundation’s three strategic focus areas are reviewed at the quarterly board meeting following submission.
If your LOI is approved, you will receive an invitation to submit a full grant application. Applications submitted before the next deadline will be reviewed at the following quarterly board meeting.
Notify the Foundation immediately if:
- The funding goal is met before a decision is made.
- The project is canceled.
