The Foundation understands that early childhood experiences have a profound impact on a child’s ultimate success, and seeks to invest not only in education, but a broader approach that encompasses all aspects of early childhood development.

Family Awareness & Education

With a focus on supporting the needs of economically disadvantaged families, the Foundation focuses on a two-generation model, striving to engage families and guardians as partners in their children’s development and learning. We promote the importance of environments that are nurturing, stimulating, and language rich for Lancaster’s youngest children.

Collaborating & Convening to Solve Problems

The Foundation seeks opportunities to create greater access to We believe that collaboration is essential to maximizing impact.  The Steinman Foundation seeks organizations that can be anchor partners, while attempting to create synergy through the pairing of complimentary organizations within the community.

Increasing Access to High-Quality Early Childhood Programs

The Foundation seeks opportunities to create greater access to high-quality and equitable early childhood education programs in Lancaster County.  We strive to bring new, evidence-based, high performing models to the community, as well as replicate best practice, as often as possible.
